My Opinion of The Articles About The Suspensions of Two Teachers
1. "Suspended Teacher Defends Book Assignment" http://www.theindychannel.com/education/15117839/detail.html2. "Museum Field Trip Deemed Too Revealing"http://www.nytimes.com/2006/09/30/education/30teacher.html?_r=1&oref=sloginBoth "Suspended Teacher Defends Book Assignment" and "Museum Field Trip Deemed Too Revealing" talk about education and how the teachers work in the U.S. The teacher in "Suspended Teacher Defends Book Assignment" whose name is Connie Heermann, and the other teacher in "Museum Field Trip Deemed Too Revealing" whose name is Sydney McGee, both are good teachers. They have been teaching for many years with experiences. They have many students who respect them; however, they both face some problems in teaching.Connie Heermann, a high school teacher who has been teaching for 26 years, assigned "The Freedom Writers Diary,"a collection of at-risk teenagers' essays containing swear words and sexual overtones, to her 11th-grade English students in November before administrators could answer her request for permission to use it. She wanted to use the book -- which was the basis for the "Freedom Writers" movie, but the school district ordered her to take the books back from the students. Actually, all of her students and parents accepted using this book except one whose parents chose another book. However, another teacher whose name is Sydney McGee's experience is worse than Heermann's. After the one student’s parent complained that McGee brought her students to a museum which with some nude art nude art for a field trip, the teacher was suspended although the tour had been approved by the principal. The 89 students were accompanied by 4 other teachers, and at least 12 parents and a museum docent. What was wrong with them? They were just teaching? Nothing was wrong. Everyone has different methods of teaching for their students or children. I can' say someone's methods are wrong determinedly, and they can't bet my ideas won't be successful. Heermann and McGee tried to use different methods for teaching bravely. As Heermann thought "it would inspire her students, many of whom are considered to be at-risk." Why don't we support them? Nowadays, students are eager to know the secrets about bodies. Why don't we teach them in the suitable way, as in classes, or in museums? New methods will bring some new changes, develop student's interests. Why don't we do it?In addition, all the negative results will hurt the teacher's feeling, and cut down their confidence, not only Heermann and McGee. They will no longer try to find out any new methods to teach their students. They will use the same models to teach all of the students for all life. The results will be very obvious. All the students will remain the same because there will be no changes or improvements. We don't want that. Don't be too harsh to teachers. The world is changing every minute. We need reform and renewal. Let's support them.

Introduction of Myself
My name is Bicui Feng. I know my first name is a little bit difficult to pronounce for American. It didn’t sound nice when people called me [bi’kwi], so I decided to pick an English name. I chose “Bonnie” because the first letter with B as my real name.I have been in the U.S. for almost two years. I didn’t go to college in the first year because the fee was too expensive that I couldn’t offer it. I came from China. Chinese is my first language. Some people say that there are no big problems for living here since there are more and more Chinese people come to California. That is true, but I don’t want to be like that. I don’t want to ask for help when I get an English letter every time. I don’t want to miss some excellent English speeches, etc. I want to learn English so that I can have a better life in the future.I took ESL166, 167, and 25 in Foothill before. I spent a lot of time for reading and writing which were good ways for me to learn English. For me, grammar is a problem. I am trying to do a lot of exercises to improve my grammar. So I am taking ESL186 and Grammar Improvement class in language art this quarter. I hope that will help my English grammar.I hope my English will get better through this class. I hope I will speak fluent English very soon. I am sure I will.
